Shri. Raja Patil, our founder, established Raja Travels in 1962 with a vision of providing the common man with an opportunity to explore this magnificent country. Through dedicated efforts, a spirit of national patriotism and a perspective focused on the belief, "Learn to travel & travel to learn", this proprietorship firm soon expanded its scope of operations to form Raja Rani Travels Pvt. Ltd.

During this eventful 50 year career span, Raja Rani Travels Pvt. Ltd. has organized approximately 1,500 tours spanning not only our country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, but also the entire world from East to West. Active participation of the directors, perfection in planning and execution, maximum return on the customer’s money in terms of facilities and amenities, itineraries to suit tastes and budgets of a varied clientele are the hallmark of the company’s mode of operations. Personalized care and assistance is provided on each tour, a quality that has been experienced by more than 1,00,000 customers.

Some memorable achievements in domestic tourism include a ‘Farmers Special’ train for 500 farmers in 1980 and a ‘Rashtriya Ekta Safar’ organized in the month of November 1983 for school children. More than 600 students visited Northern India in this educational tour to instill a spirit of harmony and patriotism through cultural performances. Certain other special trains were operated giving the ‘budget-conscious’ tourist a chance to visit various destinations at the lowest possible costs.

The most outstanding achievement of Raja Rani Travels was to continue promotion of tourism in Kashmir, even during the height of insurgency. Late Shri. Raja Patil, our founder, firmly believed in the credo, "Tourism is the Best Key to National Integration and International Friendship" which later became the organization’s motto. Under his magnetism and guidance, the organization strove to achieve the same under the most trying circumstances, and succeeded in keeping the flame of Indian tourism alive in Kashmir.

As a gesture of appreciation, the Kashmiri people bestowed the honor of "Dost-E-Kashmir" on him and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir declared an annual award in his memory to be given to the tour operator bringing the highest volume of tourists to Kashmir in a year.

The organization's endeavors at promoting tourism have also received national and state-level appreciation from the government and the media. Raja Rani Travels Pvt. Ltd. has been honored with two Diamond and four Gold Medal Awards for perfection and exemplary efforts to promote tourism. The "Udyog Ratna" was awarded to the organization by the Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi. at the hands of the then President of India, Hon.Shri. Giani Zailsingh. The Tourism Department of the Government of India, bestowed a "Special Award for 2001-2002" on Late Shri. Raja Patil, and honored the achievements and endeavors of the Raja Rani Travels Pvt. Ltd. in the field of domestic tourism.

The year 2004, the organization made a concerted effort to introduce the concept of Standardization and Quality Management Systems in day-to-day functions and operations and was the first national tour operator in Mumbai to be certified as an ISO 9001:2000 company by BSI.
